I still remember the good old days when stockphotos were free or sold for only $1.
There were two kind of stockphoto companies, the new onces, selling images of amatour photograpers for cheap like $1, and the traditional big companies, like Getty Images and Corbis that hired professionals and sold high quality images.

The price difference were huge!
I remember buying images for $1 and also by client’s request buying one for $600.
Slowly the big companies took over the small onces and the prices got higher and higher. Nowdays a normal stockphoto costs about $5-10. It is really worth to pay for them, just to make sure that you are not violating any image copyright. I occasionally use free images on Turek Design social media pages but use only paid royalty free images on clients websites.

But there are still websites with free images.

Most of them are lack of detailed search features but works fine for the cost of nothing. Please read the privacy police before you download any image and comply with it.
